Montale Wood and Spices

Montale Wood & Spices Eau de Parfum is an oriental woody unisex fragrance, launched in 2017 and composed by the house‘s founder Pierre Montale. Described as “a fragrant journey along the spice trails of India”, the composition pays homage to the union of rare woods and exotic spices. 

The olfactory pyramid opens with a vibrant, aromatic blend: bergamot, mandarin, and black pepper sparkle with a sharp, spicy freshness. At its heart, a sophisticated trio unfolds: orange blossom, cistus (rockrose) and sage add a dry, herbaceous elegance with a subtle floral‑resinous nuance. The dry‑down is a rich, long‑lasting symphony of amber, tobacco, tonka bean, vanilla, teakwood and musk – a creamy, warm and slightly sweet trail that lingers on the skin with understated sensuality. A hidden layer of precious woods (ebony, sandalwood, vetiver) escorted by incense, cardamom and a spark of pepper adds further depth.
