Diptyque Bois Corse

Launched in 2024 as part of the Les Essences de Diptyque collection, Bois Corse Eau de Parfum is a woody oriental unisex fragrance created by perfumers Olivier Pescheux and Natalie Gracia-Cetto. The name is a clever play on French words: “écorce” means tree bark, while “corsé” indicates a full‑bodied, robust character – a direct nod to the coffee note that lies at the heart of this composition.

The olfactory journey opens with the intense, slightly bitter aroma of black coffee absolute – a dark, roasted bitterness that immediately commands attention. This powerful coffee note is soon softened by the creamy, milky‑smooth embrace of sandalwood, which lends a comforting, almost velvety texture. In the dry‑down, tonka bean adds a subtle, sweet warmth with hints of almond and vanilla, creating a gentle, addictive trail that lingers on the skin. Some interpretations also detect a whisper of cedarwood, adding an extra layer of woody depth.

Inspired by the protective bark of a tree – rough on the outside yet soothing to the touch – Bois Corse balances ruggedness with elegance.
