Launched in 2024 as part of the Les Essences de Diptyque collection, Corail Oscuro Eau de Parfum by Diptyque is a floral‑mineral unisex fragrance created by perfumer Alexandra Carlin. Its name, meaning “dark coral”, evokes the dramatic chiaroscuro contrast between the fiery red of coral and the darkness of the sea bed.

The composition is built around three contrasting notes. The fragrance opens with the crystalline effervescence of mandarin – a sparkling, semi‑sweet citrus brightness that immediately awakens the senses. At its heart, a voluptuous rose bourbon absolute unfolds, offering a deep, honeyed floral richness. The base is a warm, addictive salty mineral accord that evokes the briny essence of the lagoon, grounding the composition with an earthy, marine sensuality.
